The base of the blade has a circle within a circle marking and a fiant name below it which appears to read _ & Rinck. The bore grips are retained with three brass pins and have a very pleasing, mellow patina. The bowie knife has a 7 1/2" blade which is 3/8" wide at it's base. There is a single 50 caliber cartridge fitted between these two pistols. Wood is in very good condition but the inspectors marks on left grip are gone. ![]() Frame, breechblock, hammer and triggerguard are mostly silver with slight traces of blue turning to gray. And bottom of barrel in front of forend has serial # 3091. Top of barrel in front of frame is marked with I over J.M.B.C over an anchor. Left side of reciever is marked Remington's Ilion NY U.S.A Pat May 30 Nov. The bottom pistol is an 1867 navy model with 7" round barel with a pitted but shootable bore. Reciever is mostly silver with some scattered light pitting. Barrel is a silvery gray with some light pitting near the muzzel. Walnut grips are in fine condition with a clear cartouche on left side. ![]() Left side of frame is marked Remington's Ilion, NY U.S.A pat May 30 Nov 15th 1864 April 17th 1866 in two lines also has a large P and S with a space of 3/4" between them. The top pistol is an 1871 army model with 8" round barrel, and a good bore. Unique cased set of remington rolling block pistols and bowie knife.
