![]() ![]() ![]() Removing the forestock allows the barrels to be removed from the receiver. The standard top lever pushed to the side, opening the chambers for reloading. The gun is in nice shape, and bores are clear, with some oxidation peppering. There is also a patent marking of PATENT 488366 DECB. The tops of the chambers have further markings: This is an Antique double barrel hammer Shotgun, with 30" barrels dated 1892. The pistol grip stock is checkered and the locks have minimal engraving. They are also marked ECLIPSE GUN CO, very possibly an American Trade name for marketing this gun, manufactured by BAYARD / PEIPER of Liège, Belgium. We just received this lovely example along with about 200 other guns, from a collection that sat in an attic for close to 100 years.
